Customers who work with us soon notice that our company sometimes appears as WAHSURE, sometimes as HUASU, and sometimes both names appear together — on documents, at exhibitions, on the same production floor. Reasonably enough, they ask which company they are actually dealing with. The answer is simple: one factory, two brands. HUASU is the name we use at home in China, WAHSURE is the name we use abroad, and since the split is ours rather than yours, here is the full story of how a plastics workshop in Yueqing ended up with two names.

HUASU (华塑) registered trademark WAHSURE brand logo

First There Was Huihua Plastics

The company began in Yueqing, Zhejiang — the county in southern China where a large share of the world's electrical connection components are made — as 乐清市惠华塑胶有限公司: Yueqing Huihua Plastics Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of nylon cable ties and wiring accessories. "Huihua" (惠华) has been the company's own name from the beginning, and it is still the name on the business licence today: the legal entity is now Yueqing Huihua Electronic Co., Ltd., the same company your contracts and invoices refer to. More than 25 years later, every product we ship is still moulded in our own factory.

HUASU: The Brand Taken From Our Own Name

As production grew, the company needed a product brand for the domestic market — something shorter than the company name, something a distributor could ask for by name. The founders took it from the company itself: 华塑 (HUASU) — the character 华 from 惠华 and 塑 from 塑胶 (plastics). The name literally compresses "Huihua Plastics" into two syllables.

That was the 1990s, and nothing about it has changed since. HUASU is a registered trademark (you can see the ® in the mark above), it has been on cable ties, terminals and connectors sold across China for the entire life of the company, and long-term domestic customers — in appliances, machinery, automotive supply and electrical distribution — specify it by name on their drawings.

Going Global Created a Naming Problem

Then export business grew, and the name that worked perfectly at home worked poorly abroad. A brand written in pinyin faces three problems in an overseas buyer's office:

  • Pronunciation. "HUASU" is natural in Chinese; in English, German, Spanish or Arabic, customers were unsure how to say it, and an unpronounceable brand is an unrememberable brand.
  • Spelling. HUASU is four letters that are easy to mistype and easy to confuse with other marks — orders, certificates and emails all suffered from it.
  • Distinctiveness. A short pinyin string is hard to register and hard to protect in export markets, where a similar-looking mark from another factory is a real commercial risk.
  • Chinese characters. The registered HUASU trademark carries the Chinese characters 华塑 as part of the mark itself. At home that is an advantage; for international business it is impractical — overseas buyers cannot read it, and a mark with Chinese characters is awkward to use consistently on export packaging, documentation and exhibition graphics.

WAHSURE: HUASU, Reworked for Export

The answer was not a new brand — it was the same brand, respelled. WAHSURE is a phonetic adaptation of HUASU: say it aloud — Wah-sure — and the sound of the original name is still inside it. A partner who has known us as HUASU for twenty years can hear "WAHSURE" once and make the connection; a new customer who has never heard of either gets a name that is easy to pronounce, easy to spell, and distinctive enough to register and protect in export markets.

One name, carried over a border. That is the entire relationship.

One Factory, One Standard, Two Names

This is the part that matters commercially. There is no "HUASU factory" and a separate "WAHSURE factory", no second-tier production line for one or the other, and no licensing arrangement with an outside plant:

What This Means for Your Orders

If you buy WAHSURE-branded products, three practical consequences:

  1. The certificates trace to the company, not the logo. UL files E220676 and E308136 name Yueqing Huihua Electronic Co., Ltd. as the holder — that is the entity you should see when you verify a supplier's certification claim, and it matches the name on our invoices.
  2. Consistency you can audit. Because both brands come off the same lines under the same system, a sample approved under one name is representative of the other. There is no "which factory made this?" question to ask.
  3. Custom and private-label supply works the same way. Many of our OEM customers ship under their own brand entirely — produced on the same lines, under the same system, through our OEM programme. WAHSURE and HUASU are simply the two brands we keep for ourselves.

Verify It Yourself

If you would rather confirm all this in person than take a blog post's word for it — good, that is the right instinct in this industry. Visit us at the 140th Canton Fair, Booth 16.3G30, Hall 16.3, Area C, October 15–19, 2026: both brands will be on display, the UL certificates will be next to the products they cover, and the people answering your questions are the people who run the factory. Or send an inquiry through the contact page and we will arrange samples from either brand — same factory, same line, your choice of name.
